….UNDER RECONSTRUCTION….UNDER RECONSTRUCTION…….UNDER RECONSTRUCTION….
Educated in both traditional and non-traditional methods of creating art, Felix’s work first gained attention in 2002 for a series of boxes painted on all six sides. These boxes were meant to be both observed and handled, blurring the lines between the traditional disciplines of painting and sculpture. These, along with more conventional works, were displayed at his first solo exhibition in Rock Island, Illinois in 2004, receiving local media exposure.
Morelo’s more recent works include miniature paintings composed on small-size baseball cards which he plans to publish soon in book form. Themes of his current work include the depiction of the individual, the dynamics that occur between couples, and the idea of the group as a family unit, portraying basic tensions and complexities of shared human experience in society.
